Track Day Gearing

Hi, I've just taken delivery of a 2012 model which im intending to use on trackdays. Its the first blade I have had and wondered what sort of gearing people were using on their trackdays or their races if indeed they are changing from standard. I do pretty much all my track days at Mallory or Donington. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Regards Mike Bull

I'd leave it as it is and have some fun tbh. You could go up 1t on the rear, which for the 929 was what the USA version had anyway.

Gearing

On my 900, 929 and RR4 I always went down a tooth at the front for road and track. However I just rode a 2012 which was perfect standard (unless it had been already done). will let you know when another 2012 arrives on the 24th April if it is different.:)

I've done +1t on the rear but its a 929. With Mallory's slow hairpin and bus-stop and the other chicane (name escapes me) it might give a bit more punch out the corners than std gearing. At Donington the its only the Melborne loop that you'ld probably see some benefit - the rest of its quite fast anyway.
